A: Each plant will require different amounts of sunlight. Some plants thrive in full sun while others need some shade in order to grow. It is important to look at these requirements before planting so you are making sure that you are meeting your plants sunlight needs. There are sunlight calculators that you can purchase as well to calculate how much sun a specific area in your garden receives if you are in doubt. Our FREE iOS, Android, or Universal Web App will show you which plants are considered full sun, part sun/part shade, and shade.

  1. I’d love to be able to filter the database of plants based on their sun preferences. That’d make it easier to find plants suitable to my finicky garden. Is this possible / is there any plan to add this to the app?
