These compost tumblers haven’t been very useful for making compost, but they’re great for making soil mix! Watch this short video to learn how we made your own potting mix for our oregano plant!
Check out Prairie Wind Nursery for a huge selection of culinary herbs. The owner is a plant geek like me and has been cultivating cooking herbs for 30+ years!

This video is a recording of a workshop we taught at the 2018 OKC Home + Outdoor Living Show with Lori Coats of My Raggedy Herbs about how you can grow and cook with your own herbs. Here’s the recording of tonight’s free backyard gardening class at OSU-OKC Agriculture Technologies! Thank you to everyone that came out tonight. We had a lot of fun and plan to continue these at least every month for as long as people are interested in learning! I also want to give a big shout out to OSU-OKC for allowing us to use their facilities. Sign up for our email list at http://www.seedtospoon.net/signup if you’d like to […]
This is a recording of a presentation I gave to the Tulsa Horticulture Club. I talk about how my battle against anxiety and depression led us to start gardening, how we converted our urban back yard into a food farm, and the free mobile app we built to help you do the same!
Karl Torp from our local CBS affiliate KWTV News 9 spent some time in our garden to talk about anxiety, depression, gardening, and how it’s all connected to our free mobile app that helps you grow food. Check out more in the video and article at the link below!
Thank you to Dyrinda and Doug from NewsOK & The Daily Oklahoman for hanging out with us and helping to share our story. I had the great honor of presenting at the 2018 Horticulture Industries Show organized by Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas on Friday, January 5th. I met a lot of great people, learned a great deal, and had a fantastic time. Thank you to the organizers of the event for allowing me to speak! You can watch the video below to see my presentation where I talk about what led us to start […]
I had the privilege of speaking with the OKC-Sharp developer meetup group in Oklahoma City this week and talking about why and how I learned to code in order to build our mobile app. I talk about how I learned to code and share tips for others that want to learn. This talk is geared towards software developers but there should be lessons I talk about that apply to all areas of learning.
We’ve been absent from the blog and the social media pages (outside of sharing things I’m reading) for the past 4 months. I’m excited to take a minute to pause and explain where we’ve been and share the story of building our first mobile app.
