I had the great honor of presenting at the 2018 Horticulture Industries Show organized by Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas on Friday, January 5th. I met a lot of great people, learned a great deal, and had a fantastic time. Thank you to the organizers of the event for allowing me to speak! You can watch the video below to see my presentation where I talk about what led us to start […]
I had the privilege of speaking with the OKC-Sharp developer meetup group in Oklahoma City this week and talking about why and how I learned to code in order to build our mobile app. I talk about how I learned to code and share tips for others that want to learn. This talk is geared towards software developers but there should be lessons I talk about that apply to all areas of learning.
We’ve been absent from the blog and the social media pages (outside of sharing things I’m reading) for the past 4 months. I’m excited to take a minute to pause and explain where we’ve been and share the story of building our first mobile app.
Zucchini bread is one of my favorite things to bake in the summer! Even the pickiest eater in the house (who was reluctant to try it at first since it had “zucchini” in the name) could eat an entire loaf in one sitting if I let her! Lol! This bread is not difficult to make at all and the kids love to help make this! We include cinnamon chips into our recipe instead of chocolate […]
I had a great opportunity to spend some time with Bill Farris at Prairie Wind Nursery in Norman, Oklahoma recently. I learned a lot about cooking herbs and native Oklahoma plants that do well in our extreme conditions and am excited to share what we learned! Bill has been specializing in Mediterranean herbs and native perennials for nearly 30 years and is full of great information.
Out of everything I’ve grown, tomatoes have given me the most trouble. This video talks about the mistakes I made this year and what I’ve learned from them.
This is a recording of a short talk I gave at OKC-Sharp this week about anxiety, depression, and how I’ve adjusted my working habits to help keep them in check. Thank you to StarSpace46 and Techlahoma Foundation for providing a platform to talk about a topic that’s very important to me. Please feel free share with anyone you think might benefit from hearing this!
I spent a few hours building a drip irrigation system for the children’s home garden (click here to read more about the children’s home garden project) the day before our Florida trip last month. Ironically, it rained most of the time and I wasn’t able to get a lot of video. I went back out there today to talk about the drip irrigation system and why I think it’s better than my PVC system I […]
