Kale is one of the things we grow the most. Its leaves are very nutritious, containing high levels of vitamins A, B, C, and K and large amounts of fiber, potassium, and calcium. It is also one of the few plants that we can grow all winter long. We plant it in the fall, and it typically grows all the way until the following summer.

Fall is a great time to grow greens! It’s our favorite time to grow because there are less pests about as well. It makes these easy-growing plants even easier to grow! Greens are so expensive at the grocery store and we save a lot of money with growing our own.

Cabbage worms are the caterpillar of a white butterfly with black wing tips and black spots. You can distinguish them from the cabbage looper by looking for faint yellow stripes on its back. The eggs are cone shaped, whitish-yellow, and laid on the underside of the leaves.
Flea beetles are the extremely tiny insects that jump when disturbed. Even though these beetles are super small, they can quickly move through the leaves of plants, destroying the foliage in its path and spreading diseases.
